My name Is Sebastian Siglock. I love to Learn new Techniques (Craig Jones is the Man!) and help newcomers learn the ropes. I wrestled for two years at Simon Kenton 2008-2010. After I graduated I dabbled in sambo, with a friend for a few summers here and there but never competed. The reason I got into jiu-jitsu is that I loved listening to JRE. I really got into the discussion whenever they were talking about Grappling. So I started training once a week back in fall of 2016 and never looked back.
I have competed in numerous local tournaments and won a lot of medals over the last several years. I am also an engineer that used to travel for work. During the last few years while traveling, I have trained at over 50 different schools. Schools like 10th Planet & Gracie Baja to Carlson Gracie HQ in Chicago and LCCT (Juliana Pena’s homeschool). I have had the great opportunity to train from New York to California and even in Thailand while on vacation. But out of all the gyms and places I have been to, Kentucky is home and I’m here to stay!
Jiu-Jitsu is something that is not for everyone. But once you get the courage to start training, it can change your life in many ways. Not just Physically, but Mentally and Spiritually as well. The trials and tough situations you find yourself experiencing while on the mat will highlight what you need to work on within your own game . We all will face tough challenges in life. Those are a given but the same principles used on the mat to solve a submission or an escape seamlessly apply to all other aspects in your life as well. Teaching you to be there for your teammates builds a strong sense of community, fighting through a tough submission can build mental fortitude, and knowing when to not give up even when all hope is lost will improve your character. I love training and am forever grateful to all the friends, people and coaches I have met through my journey. I look forward to meeting you on the mats!
